Deborah had a rewarding life as a healthcare provider before discovering her artistic talent. Watching her father paint sparked her interest but not until her retirement did she pursue her love of painting. As a native Mainer, she draws inspiration from her frequent trips home where she paints plein air or in her studio. Since moving back to Virginia, two years ago, she has found a welcoming painting community which is near and dear to her heart. Her paintings, using movement, light and color, bring the viewer a sense of peace and tranquility. Her work has shown at CAC, VMFA studio school and will be in the annual URI artist show in July 2026. She has studied under accomplished artists in Chicago and Richmond, including at Crossroads Art Center and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
